Connecting Travel, a leading B2B travel trade publisher focused on travel to and from the Middle East, is expanding its editorial team and is seeking a Deputy Editor to help drive its next phase of growth.
Based in Dubai, this full-time role offers a hybrid working model, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the publication’s editorial direction, overseeing daily news output and spearheading thought leadership across the travel and tourism sector.
Working closely with senior management, the Deputy Editor will write and edit high-quality content, and support the delivery of in-depth analysis, interviews and industry reports. The role also involves contributing to Connecting Travel’s events and multimedia projects, ensuring consistent editorial standards across all platforms.

The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Editor to help lead our editorial output and shape the daily news agenda. This is a hands-on role for an accomplished journalist with a deep interest in the travel sector and a strong grasp of the Middle East travel trade landscape. You will play a key role in identifying stories that matter, maintaining editorial standards and CT’s market-leading position, and producing engaging, accurate and commercially aware journalism in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Story Leadership: Spot emerging trends, cultivate industry sources, attend key events and generate original, agenda-setting stories
Editorial Excellence: Maintain consistently high standards of accuracy, tone and quality across all content
Content Production: Write and edit daily news and in-depth features for digital platforms
Digital Publishing & Engagement: Oversee timely publication across web and social channels, strengthening audience engagement and visibility
Industry Relationships: Build and maintain strong networks across the Middle East travel trade
About You
Experience: 3–5+ years in journalism, ideally within travel trade, business or B2B publishing
Education: Degree in journalism or a related discipline
Proven editorial ability, with a portfolio demonstrating strong news judgment and original reporting
Excellent writing and editing skills, with a rigorous command of grammar and style
Digital-first mindset, with experience using CMS platforms and an understanding of SEO, AI and social media strategy
Calm under pressure, able to meet daily deadlines without compromising accuracy
Confident communicator, comfortable building relationships across the industry
