Oman Air to launch Dubai–Salalah flights amid rising demand

Oman Air will launch a new direct service connecting Dubai and Salalah, operating three weekly year-round flights from 3 July 2026, with bookings for the new service now open. 

 

The route caters to “growing demand” for travel between the UAE and Oman’s southern Dhofar Governorate, particularly during Salalah’s Khareef (monsoon) season from 21 June to 20 September. During this period, the city’s cooler temperatures, lush greenery and seasonal waterfalls make it one of the region’s most sought-after summer getaways.

 

The destination continues to draw millions of visitors from across the GCC each year, with its white-sand beaches, mountain hiking and historic souks, along with the Unesco‑listed Land of Frankincense sites.

 

Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis said “demand for access to and from Salalah continues to grow”, adding that the airline is increasing capacity where possible to offer more travel choices and further support tourism growth in the governorate.

The development follows a period of strong growth in Salalah operations, with Oman Air carrying 19% more passengers to the city in 2025 than in 2024, and 36% more than in 2022. Capacity also rose 20% in January 2026 compared to the previous year, with further increases planned throughout the year.

 

The carrier has also expanded internationally, recently introducing its first direct charter flights between Moscow and Salalah, expected to bring more than 7,000 Russian visitors to Dhofar. 

 

Beyond Salalah, Oman Air will add new long-haul connections, including the first-ever non-stop route between Muscat and Singapore from 2 July 2026, and the Muscat–Kigali service starting June 2026. Oman Air operates to more than 40 destinations across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
