Flight frequencies to Kuala Lumpur, Lagos and Shanghai will increase to meet rising demand
Qatar Airways is increasing capacity for the 2025 winter season with 13 additional weekly flights across three key destinations, responding to rising demand and bringing the total number of extra flights this year to nearly 3,000.
The new flights to Kuala Lumpur, Lagos and Shanghai form part of the carrier’s expanded winter schedule, which already includes more than 70 additional frequencies to some 15 major destinations, including Cape Town, Dublin and Toronto.
From 15 December 2025 to 28 March 2026, the Doha-Lagos service will rise from 10 to 14 flights weekly, followed two days later by an increase on the Doha–Kuala Lumpur route from 14 to 17 flights per week.
Starting 1 January 2026, services to Shanghai will expand from seven to 10 weekly, supporting growing inbound and outbound demand from China. The added Shanghai frequencies will also strengthen connectivity between Asia and key destinations including Algiers, São Paulo and Warsaw.
Qatar Airways is also enhancing capacity on select routes by deploying the Airbus A380 to Singapore from 12 January 2026. The move will provide additional seats while elevating the travel experience for passengers in premium cabins.
This latest expansion follows a series of recent network increases to high-demand destinations, including adding 14 more weekly flights to London Heathrow and an extra seven weekly services to the Maldives, Phuket and Abu Dhabi.
