Week-long break set for 17 to 23 March 2026
Qatar’s Amiri Diwan has announced a week-long Eid holiday for government employees, covering all ministries, state agencies and public institutions. The official break will run from Tuesday 17 March to Monday 23 March, with work resuming on Tuesday 24 March.
The holiday schedule for the Qatar Central Bank, Qatar Financial Markets Authority and other financial institutions will be determined separately by the Governor of the Qatar Central Bank.
For private sector workers, the Ministry of Labour confirmed that employees will be entitled to three days of holiday with full pay. In a statement, the ministry said: “If employees are required to work during the Eid holiday, the provisions governing overtime hours and related allowances under Article 74 of the Labour Law will apply.”

Additionally, schools in Qatar are currently on spring break, with classes set to resume after Eid, allowing families to coordinate travel or celebrations during the holiday.
Elsewhere in the GCC, the UAE and Saudi Arabia have also confirmed Eid holiday dates, with both countries offering a four-day break. In the UAE, the holiday will run from 19 to 22 March, while Saudi will observe it from 18 to 21 March.
Across the region, Eid staycations are on the rise, as residents limit travel amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Many UAE hotels are offering special deals for locals during this period, including Atlantis Dubai, which has discounted stays across both its resorts. Meanwhile, key options in Doha include the Radisson Blu Hotel, Embassy Suites by Hilton in Old Town, The Chedi Katara Hotel and Rosewood Doha.
