Siyam World Maldives, a five-star resort in the Noonu Atoll, has set a Guinness World Record for ‘The Most People Snorkeling Simultaneously at a Single Venue’. The island property became the first resort to hold this title, as 307 snorkelers came together on 5 December 2025 for the record attempt.
To achieve this goal, Siyam World partnered with Freedive Maldives to host Snorkel World 300, gathering hotel guests and local enthusiasts from neighbouring islands for the event, surpassing the previous record of 250 participants. Guinness representatives were on site at the island’s house reef to verify the activity. Following the event, participants were also awarded in the Maldives’ first-ever Guinness World Records medal ceremony.

“We have never been the type to follow the usual path; doing the unexpected has always been our style.”
Known as one of the Maldives’ largest islands, Siyam World has a wide range of guest experiences, offering distinct recreational facilities including the Indian Ocean’s only horse ranch and largest floating waterpark. Additional offerings include electric go-karting and a full-size football field.
Part of Sun Siyam Resorts, the island first opened to guests in 2021 and is the newest resort in the group’s collection of Maldivian and Sri Lankan properties that now numbers six.
