Middle East delegates join three-day event in Barcelona
Travel buyers and suppliers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Türkiye were among the 200 delegates in attendance at Connections Luxury Europe, which returned to Barcelona from 12 to 15 April in 2026 for its latest edition, hosting targeted business meetings with shared destination-led experiences.
Held in partnership with Barcelona Turisme, the three-day event brought together senior luxury travel professionals from 40 nationalities and hosted 2,506 one-to-one meetings in line with the successful ‘Connections Way’ format.
The event blended structured networking with curated experiences across the city, designed to support commercial conversations while showcasing Barcelona as a leading luxury destination.
Business networking sessions were hosted at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, which acted as the central hub for the event. The programme then extended across the city with evening events at venues including Fiskebar by Grupo Tragaluz and Monument Hotel, before concluding with a closing reception at Hotel Miramar Barcelona, overlooking the city’s iconic skyline.
The cultural itinerary featured a series of immersive experiences designed to showcase the destination, including Catalan gastronomy, wine workshops inspired by Gaudí’s trencadís technique and a personal shopping experience at El Corte Inglés.
Highlights included exclusive access to Casa Batlló, a masterpiece of Catalan Modernism designed by Antoni Gaudí in 1904, ahead of its public opening. Famous for its bone-like facade, the building is in focus as Barcelona celebrates Gaudí Year, commemorating 100 years since the architect’s death.

More than 45 local companies and institutions took part in the programme, reflecting the city’s wider tourism and cultural ecosystem.
Greg Reeves, Managing Director at Connections Luxury, said: “Barcelona has the cultural richness, international appeal and sense of occasion that our audience values, but it also has the infrastructure and hospitality to support meaningful business at the highest level.
“What defines this event is not simply the quality of the meetings, but the way the whole experience is designed around them. When the right people are brought together in the right setting, with the right pace and the right access, stronger relationships are built.”
Anna Marquès, Strategic Projects Director at Barcelona Turisme, added: “We’re proud to host Connections Luxury Europe in Barcelona as part of our ongoing partnership. The event brings together a highly influential international community and provides an exceptional platform to showcase Barcelona’s cultural, architectural and hospitality strengths to the global luxury travel market.”.
Connections Luxury Europe forms part of a three-year partnership with Barcelona Turisme, with the city confirmed as host of the European edition through to 2028. The event will return for its next edition from 25 to 28 April 2027.
