Four-day break declared from 18 to 21 March 2026
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has confirmed Eid Al Fitr holiday dates for employees in the private and non-profit sectors.
The break will begin at the end of the working day on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, corresponding to 29 Ramadan 1447 AH, and will extend for four days, in accordance with provisions of the Saudi Labour Law.
Announcing the decision, Mohammed Al Ruzaiqi, the ministry’s official spokesperson, said the move aims to support both employers and employees in preparing for the upcoming festive period.
“The announcement aims to provide clarity for employers and employees ahead of the holiday period, allowing organisations to organise work schedules and ensure operational continuity in essential sectors while safeguarding workers’ rights to the festive break,” Al Ruzaiqi said.

He also highlighted the importance of adhering to Article 24 of the executive regulations of the Saudi Labour Law, which outlines official holiday entitlements and guarantees employees the right to paid leave during religious and national occasions.
According to the regulations, employees are also entitled to compensation if official holidays coincide with weekly rest days, or in cases where operational needs require work during the Eid period. In such instances, employers must ensure that compensation is provided in line with established labour provisions.
The UAE has already revealed its Eid Al Fitr holidays for both public and private sector employees, with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) confirming a paid break from Thursday, 19 March to Saturday, 21 March 2026.
