Gymnast will help shape future wellbeing programmes and experiences
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Simone Biles as its first-ever Global Wellness Ambassador, marking the occasion with two Biles-inspired experiences at Mandarin Oriental, Milan. Widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts in history, Biles has amassed 11 Olympic medals, including seven golds, the most Olympic medals ever won by a US gymnast.
The appointment underscores the Group’s holistic approach to wellbeing, integrating physical strength, mental health, recovery and balance.
In her new role, Biles will collaborate with the Mandarin Oriental Wellness Board, contributing insights alongside experts in lifestyle performance, meditation, movement, nutrition and sleep. Together, they will help shape future wellness programmes and experiences across the Group, with Biles also featuring in global storytelling initiatives and campaign activations as part of the brand’s evolving wellness strategy.
During her first visit to Milan as an international sports fan, Biles made her debut in the role at Mandarin Oriental, Milan. She said she shares the brand’s conviction that wellness extends beyond physical training, noting that it’s about “taking care of your whole self.”
She added: “Throughout my career, I’ve learned how important recovery, mental wellbeing, and balance are. I’m honored to work with a brand that truly understands and supports that belief in providing guests with holistic wellness offerings.”

To mark the launch of the long-term partnership, Mandarin Oriental, Milan is offering two exclusive experiences inspired by Biles through the end of March.
The Double-Double Glow spa treatment combines advanced thermal techniques and cosmetic innovation to rejuvenate skin and muscles and enhance recovery. The deep body massage alternates hot and cold stones to ease tension and stimulate circulation, followed by a Glass Skin facial using cryo globes to tone and illuminate.
Separately, the ‘Champion Chip’ cookie, created in collaboration with the hotel’s culinary team, offers a balanced treat inspired by Biles’s philosophy of strength, nourishment and enjoyment.
Alex Schellenberger, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer of Mandarin Oriental, said: “This partnership represents a new era in how we engage with talent, moving beyond endorsement to genuine collaboration. Simone brings credibility, lived experience and global influence to our wellness philosophy. We are excited to elevate the conversation around holistic wellbeing and craft experiences that inspire balance, resilience and purpose.”
As part of Mandarin Oriental’s Fans community and ongoing support for global charitable initiatives, Biles and the brand will partner with Laureus Sport for Good, a foundation that uses sport to drive social change and empower young people.
The collaboration reinforces a shared belief between Biles and Mandarin Oriental that sport transcends borders, fosters connection and creates lasting opportunities to transform lives.
