Shura Island property includes pool villas, coastal cuisine and an outdoor cinema
SLS has opened a resort at The Red Sea destination in Saudi Arabia, marking Ennismore’s first property in the kingdom and its second in the Middle East following Dubai.
SLS The Red Sea joins The Edition and InterContinental as the third hotel to launch on Shura Island, a regenerative tourism hub featuring luxury resorts, a marina and Saudi Arabia’s first island golf course.
To celebrate the opening, members of Ennismore’s Dis-loyalty programme can enjoy 50% off stays at SLS The Red Sea until 15 March 2026.
The design-led resort offers 150 accommodations, including garden- or sea-view rooms and suites, alongside beachfront villas, each offering a private pool and outdoor shower. All accommodations combine modern art and natural textures, with luxuries including plush king beds, soaking tubs, floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces.
Guests can also choose from five restaurants and bars, a spa and fitness centre, outdoor cinema and dedicated clubs for children and teens, all set along a stretch of white-sand beach.
Culinary highlights include the London-born seafood concept Seabird, serving Portuguese and Spanish coastal cuisine, and Floating World, where Japanese flavours meet theatrical presentation. Fi’lia makes its Saudi debut, offering its celebrated female-led take on modern Italian dining, while Deluxe serves artisanal coffee and pastries.
The Perch, a lively poolside venue, offers mocktails and small plates designed for sharing.

The SLS brand’s signature duck-in-the-pool design motif appears throughout the property, brought to life by Saudi artist Heba Ismail, adding a distinctive local touch that celebrates regional art and culture.
At Ciel Spa, guests will find six treatment rooms, an indoor water circuit and outdoor hydro pool, alongside dedicated beauty and grooming facilities for men and women.
Located on Saudi’s western coastline, Shura Island is just 25 minutes from Red Sea International Airport (RSI). Part of an archipelago surrounded by the world’s fourth-largest barrier reef, the regenerative tourism destination was designed by Foster + Partners under the Coral Bloom concept. The island also features a yacht marina, dining and retail village, championship golf course, wellness centre and leisure facilities.
In October, Karl Kutzelnig was appointed General Manager of SLS The Red Sea. The brand’s global portfolio includes hotels in Beverly Hills, Miami, the Bahamas, Cancun, Playa Mujeres, Barcelona and Buenos Aires, with forthcoming openings in Madrid and Punta del Este, Uruguay.
Ennismore’s Middle East pipeline extends beyond SLS, with upcoming openings under its lifestyle brands including Mondrian Abu Dhabi on the UAE capital’s waterfront and Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga in the Saudi capital, both set to bring design‑led rooms and serviced apartments to their respective city locations. In Saudi, the group is also planning 25hours Trojena at Neom’s mountain destination and 25hours Hotel Heart of Khobar.
