Initiative to debut aboard Symphony and Serenity beginning 9 May 2026
Crystal Cruises has launched ‘Boot Walk at Sea’, a philanthropic initiative supporting cancer research through a collaboration with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre.
The summer series will debut on 9 May aboard Crystal Symphony and on 2 June aboard Crystal Serenity. It will run through the end of August across the line’s wellness-focused voyages, aligning with National Walking Month in May and National Wellness Month in August.
Once per sailing, guests will be invited to take part in a hosted promenade walk along Deck 7’s wraparound teak track, with a continuous circuit allowing participants to complete laps at their own pace. While participation is optional, guests will be encouraged to make a voluntary donation per lap, with proceeds directed to MD Anderson in support of ongoing research and clinical advancement.

Cristina Levis, CEO of Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG), said: “Boot Walk at Sea reflects our commitment to wellness while creating space for purpose-driven moments that resonate well beyond the journey. Through this collaboration, we can offer our guests an opportunity to engage in something both meaningful and personal.”
The initiative extends MD Anderson’s long-running ‘Boot Walk to End Cancer’ fundraising programme into the cruise sector and supports the James P Allison Institute’s immunotherapy research initiatives.
The launch builds on Crystal’s previous collaboration with MD Anderson in November 2025, under which a portion of each booking was donated towards research programmes.
