Launch pushed back amid supply chain disruption
The Wynn Al Marjan Island development in Ras Al Khaimah could face an opening delay amid regional shipping and logistics challenges, the developer has confirmed.
Originally scheduled to debut in early 2027, the integrated resort remains under active construction, with Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings stating during the company’s Q1 earnings call: “We do expect a modest delay in our opening timeline.”
Despite the postponement, Wynn Resorts confirmed that it invested an additional US$100 million (AED368 million) into the project during Q1 2026, bringing its total equity contribution to more than US$1 billion (AED3.67 billion). The company holds a 40% stake in the joint venture developing Wynn Al Marjan Island.
Construction on the project briefly paused following the outbreak of the Iran conflict on 28 February 2026 before resuming in March. More than 22,000 workers remain on site as the company reroutes shipments and sources alternative materials to navigate wider supply chain challenges across the region. “Based on conditions today, these challenges are manageable,” Billings said.

Construction progress continues across the resort, with the 305-metre hotel tower now topped out and façade installation surpassing 80% completion. Structural works across all guest rooms and suites have also been completed, alongside near-completion of low-rise structures. Extensive interior works are currently underway.
Billings praised the UAE’s handling of the regional situation, stating that the country had shown “an admirable ability to protect its people and its assets” during recent tensions.
Set across more than 60 hectares on Al Marjan Island, the integrated resort will feature more than 1,500 rooms and suites, villas, a marina, theatre, beach club, spa, multiple pools and the UAE’s first regulated gaming facility. Recruitment is also ramping up ahead of the opening, with the resort hiring 117 employees during Q1 2026, bringing its workforce to 368 team members across operational and administrative divisions. More than 140 vacancies are currently listed across hospitality, culinary, engineering, finance and resort operations.
